One Heron from Port Townsend

This piece of public art is a large, graceful weather vane that sits atop the roof of the Haines Place Park and Ride shelter on the edge of Kai Tai Lagoon Nature Park. Fashioned by renowned artist-blacksmith Russell Jaqua, in bronze, it's often seen glimmering in the sunlight. This shot taken from the north side, into the sun, shows a nice silhouette.

Haines Place Park and Ride, located on Haines Street one block north of Sims Way, is a hub for Port Townsend's excellent transit system provided by Jefferson Transit Authority. It's a great spot for visitors to park and easily tour by bus, all the downtown, uptown, Fort Worden and outlying areas.

Like the light on this, showing off the silhouette.

At first glance I thought you'd caught a live heron in mid stretch. Nice photo today.

Awesome silouette! Maybe silouettes should be a Theme Day topic!

This is a fantastic photo. You framed everything so nicely, and the light is amazing - I love it.
