ABC Wednesday - U

U is for the ubiquitous umbrella. Since we've had so many dull, gray, rainy days lately, I didn't want to see one more shot of someone hiding from the raindrops under an umbrella. This photo taken in Pike Place Market on a sunny fall day is a happier use for umbrellas than we're having to employ now during this wintry spring. The colorful shade umbrellas are on the dining balcony of a Bolivian restaurant above Pike Place called the Copacabana Cafe. The Copa serves fair food for a fair price and has the best seats in the house for enjoying open-aired dining in the market with sweeping views across Elliott Bay to the Olympic Mountains. It has long been one of my favorite places to dine on a nice summer day and have a sip of wine with a hearty paella while watching the streams of people moving along the street below.
There is one more photo for U at Raf's Lagniappe.

There are many more U posts to be found on this ABC Wednesday over at Mrs. Nesbitt's Place.

I clicked on your thumbnail thinking, "What a fabulous shot! And, where in the world is he, cuz there ain't no sunshine to be had this week." Ah, Seattle in the fall. We love this restaurant, and I have ordered the Paella before (my dad was a fab cook and made paella a lot when I was a kid, so I always try it wherever I find it offered, just to see. . ." We love their balcony and view on warm sunny evenings. Glad you visit down here!

I see what you mean about the use of a certain u word. How wierd! Love the angle looking up toward the unbrellas. It's such a naturally colourful scene and just the photo to
brush away the blues.

Nice to see them! We have had a long period with exceptionally nice weather, but now we are back no the "normal" umbrella.

My U is here.

Your picture sure does convey a light and happy atmosphere. Sounds like a perfect place to sit and eat (says the one sitting in front of the laptop and eating dinner).

What a great shot! And I, too, am sick of UMBRELLAS for the rain. These parasol types are so much nicer! :D

Very inviting photo conjuring up Pike Place Market, Elliott Bay and a great meal. We've had way too much rain here too.
Also really enjoyed your lagniappe post and its personal definition. Another great photo.
Happy weekend!
