Sky Watch Friday
I wonder if the owner of this private residence might be one of our very own Sky Watchers. Perhaps he simply wanted a home built to look like a traditional lighthouse, but if nothing else the tower would certainly be a choice perch for sky watching. I took this shot early in the morning and caught the deer still sleeping in. Port Townsend is very deer friendly and they are seen all through the day browsing through the residential gardens and open spaces. They stroll by our windows mornings and evenings as they make their rounds until, right on cue, Aengus (a large white shepherd/golden retriever) begins his barking protests. They stop, watch for a minute, then totally ignore him and return to feeding.
Although the private "lighthouse" was built less than twenty years ago on a bluff leading to uptown PT, it is probably one of the most photographed buildings in a town full of beautiful old historic structures. I have photographed it numerous times under different weather and seasonal conditions and have added a few of those shots to my newly constructed "overflow blog" Raf's Lagniappe, if you care to see more.

Nice place to spend an holiday.
Great photo for SW.
If "Louis" lived in Port Townsend, he also would find this lighthouse a favorite subject to photograph!
I wish that was my house.. ha! just think of the sunsets I could get..
Beautiful photo; I think I've seen this place, but long ago.
It is a lovely view. Your thoughts about it's owners too and skywatch, very enjoyable.
I've passed this home numerous times. My friends Judith and Robert live just up the street from here. I've never seen deer there, however. Great catch!
Love the lupins in the foreground!!
We're neighbors!
I'm just over the virtual fence line!
Reclining deer on the lawn--what a sight.
