A pleasant surprise

How nice it was this weekend to meet, Chuck Pefley, one of the better known professional photographers in the City Daily Photo blogging community.
Spent the weekend seeing the sights in Seattle with visiting family. Shortly after arriving at Pike Place Market on Friday, I was taking pictures of several motorcycles and scooters parked along the curb on Pike Place and noticed a couple of guys discussing bikes. Later it struck me that one of the men was probably blogging friend, Chuck Pefley (had on a beret) and so I set off to look for him on a very crowded market day. The sun was beaming and the temperature was finally warming to seasonal norms. Find him I did, busy at work, but we did have a few minutes to meet and chat. Saturday was another very busy day at the market, but I was able to snap a few pix of Chuck and his work, chat briefly again and plan to someday actually visit over a coffee or lunch. After more than a year of virtual comments, it was a pleasure to really meet Chuck Pefley.

How neat to meet Chuck. We get to know each other in blog land but what a high to actually meet. He has so many beautiful photos. MB

Raf, it was indeed a great pleasure to be able to spend time chatting with you, too. As MB says, it is a high to actually meet virtual friends in real time. Thanks for the photo and the advertising -:) Hope to get over your way sometime in the not distant future. Ciao!

How cool! I did a double take when I opened your page, I thought I recognized the beret!

I had a feeling your surprise would be Chuck! I intend to do the same this summer, and of course, also see you in Port Townsend to put a face to the name! And I look nothing like my little dog on my avatar.

Isn't he handsome! In front of or behind the lens! Glad you got to meet. I'm just catching up today on your Seattle shots and enjoying them so much.
