Sky King

Flaps down and ready for landing...

...he's master of his domain.
A few more shots from the encounter I had about six weeks ago with a bald eagle, which I posted here. Not perfectly focused, but I was totally surprised and things moved quickly. Had not seen him before or since.

Eagles are cliche, ... but also my favorite bird. They stand alone.

I've only seen two in flight and never with my camera. You are very fortunate.

Beautiful, Raf. I seldom catch them in flight and when I do they are going the other way. Sky King is a perfect title. MB

What a majestic looking creature! I see them sometimes around Washington Park in Anacortes. They always take my breath away! Happy Skywatching...

Very nice, Raf. I see you're shivering and suffering like the rest of us in the beautiful Pacific NW. I have heard rumors of spring being on the agenda, just waylaid.

Wonder if this is the fellow I see occasionally in Gig Harbor when I'm back there... I caught him once perched waaaay up in a tree devouring a fish.
