Sky watching at the Wooden Boat Festival

It's September and that means Wooden Boat Festival time in Port Townsend. Beginning this Friday and through the weekend, wooden boats from far and near will be on view at Point Hudson Marina. There will be hundreds of wooden boats and vendors. Some vessels will invite folks aboard and some will offer a sail or spin around the Port Townsend waters. There will be music and dances nightly and no shortage of good food and drink at the festival, as well as in the many eateries and bars around town. It really is something special. Unfortunately, we'll miss it this year, but I will be posting photos of favorite boats and scenes from the last several festivals. This image is from last year's show while sailing aboard the schooner Merrie Ellen .

I would love to go to that festival! Sorry you're missing it this year, but I hope that wherever you're going will more than make up for it!
