North Beach
A long and rugged stretch of beach and bluffs runs along the north side of Port Townsend and the Quimper Peninsula. It's a favorite haunt for locals that enjoy walking or beachcombing or running their dogs off the leash between the tides. Some enjoy looking for small shards of sea glass that turn up regularly in the sand deposited from the old dumps along the coast many years ago. It's a beautiful stretch bordering the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Range are seen here while looking east toward Point Wilson Lighthouse.
