The Hastings Building, on Water and Taylor Streets is one of the most prominent landmarks in the downtown business district. Seen here from across the street in the reflection of a shop window, its Romanesque style of architecture shines in the late afternoon sun. This grand old Victorian building was designed by E. H. Fisher and built in 1889. Fisher also designed Henry Yesler's Pioneer Building(1892) in Seattle's Pioneer Square.
