This shot was taken several springs ago in the eaves of our front porch in Omaha, Nebraska, where a pair of robins decided to make themselves a home. When I would scramble up the posts and raise the camera above my head and shoot into the nest, the little chicks would think that lunch had arrived and pop to attention, mouths at the ready. It was fun following the whole sequence, from little turquoise-colored eggs through watching the last musketeer flutter away under watchful parents eyes. I hope this shot meets the criteria for Odd Shots Monday. Seems odd enough to have an Omaha photo in a Port Townsend photo blog, but also the baby robins are surely an odd looking bunch, especially since we don't normally have the chance to see them at that stage of life. Happy Spring!

Great classic shot!
Oddly appropriate! ;-)
Absolutely wonderful catch! Of course it's an odd shot!
Awesomely cute photo! I'd of named it "Got worms"?
Happy Spring to you as well. This is a fantastic photo!
Oh, RAF, that is absolutely wonderful. I am sure glad you found us. I will put you on the blogroll right away.
Oh yes, baby robins. I love these birds. And, like you, had a nest of 4 that ended up being three and I got to watch the entire process and also photographed it--from birth to graduation day and the first flights. Amazing creatures. Thank goodness you told me to come over here or I would surely have missed this.

Love the photo - and the title! Really liked yesterday's cats too - just as well they didn't get today's birds.
Raf, I believe you've met your odd requirements today.
Great photo, by the way. ~Chuck
This is so touching!
Hi Raf, A lovely photo, a great title and a well written post. Cheers...
