A crewman aboard the schooner Alcyone is seen high in the rigging tending the main gaff topsail during last Saturday's opening day of the boating season in Port Townsend. With bright sunny weather and a good breeze for sailing, the bay was busy with boaters enjoying the day.

Fabulous shot, Raf! Beautiful skies! I'm so looking forward to the wooden ship festival this year. My son and I are planning to go this year and I'm really excited! Happy SWF! Have a great weekend!
I do feel like I've missed out on the Tall ships that used to be here. Fabulous image and I hope to see the festival Sylvia referred to virtually.
Great shot. He certaintly 'sky high'. MB
And no small boat either - they must have a large crew to manage that one - thank you for sharing!
Watch out for that first step!
Great shot. Brave guy too, you wouldn't catch me up there!
Lovely shot! I wish them sunny skies always for a great boating season. :)
Happy skywatching!
Great skywatch shot!
What a marvelous shot! It's exciting!
I always love your shots of all things nautical in Port Townsend. Messing about in boats, even virtually, is such fun!
Hope you are enjoying our blue and cloudy skies today. It is lovely here in Seattle as I'm sure it is in PT.
