Seen here earlier this year on the beach at Point Hudson, these Pacific Black Brant geese pause around Port Townsend waters to rest and feed on eelgrass before continuing their migration from the coast of Mexico north to the Arctic. They have been called the Sea Goose of the Pacific Coast and travel some three thousand miles on their journeys north and south.
See a myriad of skies from 'round the world every Friday on Sky Watch.

Wonderful pale background of the mountain and sea with the geese at the horizon. Just beautiful.
How great to see you back! I've missed your posts! This one is one of the reasons why! Such a fantastic shot! Love the geese, the mountain and the sea!
Have a great weekend! Look forward to seeing more next week!

Graceful trek through the sky...
These birds are so amazing. You do them justice.
So, are you back for a bit? It is good to see your beautiful photos again. Bibi, Chuck and I had thought to come up to see you when she was here. Any chance Chuck and I could wander up your way on a photo adventure before you're away again? Thanks,
-Kim
