This shot from the wheelhouse, pulled from my old files of fishing the Bering Sea, was taken during a light icing day on approach to Dutch Harbor, Alaska. After weathering a stormy night, this morning image was a pleasure to take while running with a settling sea. The slight blur is from the film of sea water running down the wheelhouse windows.

It still look like raging fury!
I am always impressed by the bravery of those who work at sea - to me that wave still looks massive!
Welcome Raf, very good to see you here! What a dramatic photo this is. I love watching storms from the safety of the land - but I don't think I'd have liked this trip very much.
Awesome photo! Love the one of the whales.
I'm seasick....but a wonderful picture...
You can sing "Stormy weather" with a clean conscience with this one. Loved the icy railing.
What respect we have for those who brave these waters to make their living! Excellent shot.
Darryl and Ruth : )
Welll, I am feeling a little queasy right now.
Excellent shot though.

Wow that would be something to experience! Love the photo.
This is truly an awesome and dramatic photo, I love it :) All the best from anette in Norway :)
It looks scary. I admire the courage of those men who work at sea..I have two brothers who are seafarers.. and they too, take pictures of big waves.. like this one. Even bigger..
The shot is great.. and the wave really looks huge... Whow.
Btw, here's mine. Hope you could drop by.. =)

Wow, I saw the ice on the railings and was awed. I'm glad this was a settling sea, and would not have wanted to be on board during the storm!
Impressing! Wouldn't have liked to have been there though!
Thanks for sharing;o)
