Folks in the Port Townsend Bay area were treated to a special event last week at the Jefferson County Library in Port Hadlock. The Oregon Shadow Theatre was in town to present its delightful shadow puppet version of the classic Hans Christian Andersen story Thumbelina. Artists and performers, Mick Doherty and Deb Chase are masters at entertaining young and old with their magical and beautiful art form. Learn more about them and the art of shadow puppetry here.
A gallery of shadows awaits your discovery at Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday.

What a fun shadow :D
Oh I love shadow puppets. It is like so much fun. I am glad you enjoyed it. MB
This is such fun. I'd go even without a kid to accompany me.
OMG! That's fantastic! It was indeed a special treat to attend such an event. Wish I was there! I'm gobsmacked by how gorgeous that shot is!
Thanks also for the shadow puppet link. Off to check it out now!
This is beautifully delicate!

This is such a fun, great shadow! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing this, it's lovely! I want to check out the link, too!
Oh wow, that looks absolutely fantastic! I would have enjoyed the show immensely!
I once traveled across Metro Manila alone late on a week night just to watch a 1930s shadow puppet animated movie and it was definitely worth the bother!
All my years in Oregon and I've never heard of this group. Checked their schedule and it looks like I'll have to wait some time for a local show. Thanks for the info.
